just a place for ideas and thoughts, things that happen and things that i imagine, a place to record my journey and an attempt to catch some of the things that go through my head : )
hi Amy, choice to see your fire pics, I'm impressed that you've been brave enough to get on the other side of the camera as well! I drew the line there myself... I have some fire pics too, most of the ones I've posted (so far...) should be under this tag, I think my fave would probably be this 'un. (each of them open up to a larger size/s)
it's great when you get enough light from the poi to dispense with the flash, lovely diffuse lighting and often a trace of that individual's particular style... Your shot of Arnaud in particular works well; the ground has lit up nicely and the blur of distinct shapes in the background offsets the clear firelines fantastically.
wunderbar!
PS. good on yer for getting the blog postings running...
SO good to hear from you!! I have no idea what you told my but I'm sure you're totally right. Those tags are awesome. Did you take them all yourself? Where are you at the moment? I love all your photos especially the portraits. You're so cool Hope to hear from you again soon peace out xxox
thank you! to be fair I've been picking out my favorite photos from the last 12 years, so that ends up being a decent chunk of dross to find stuff I'm happy amongst. I think the portraits are my faves too, but I'm perhaps more attatched to people than bits of landscape I've spent a short amount of time near.
the tags thing is _very_ cool, if only physical filing systems could work like that... I think it's one of flickr's strongest points (and that they are very clever!).
I'm currently still in Dunedin, but in two weeks either heading to Wellington or Stewart Island, both of which depend on jobs! I'd prefer the Wellington one (less money, more friends there) but we'll see. I'll miss lots about here, but at the moment it is too hard to find the kind of work I want, and too easy to get by without. Welington will be a challenge if anything, and a timely one at that. Some close friends have recently sprogged, and the streets are paved with ofice temp work. I can't believe how many people I know there too, which is very appealing.
